Dr. Lei is an Orthopeadic surgeon and Ph.D candidate from Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, China. He is specialized in adult joints reconstruction surgery and related fundamental researches. He joined Biomaterials Innovation Research Center (BIRC), BWH, Harvard University as a postdoctoral research fellow in Jan 2015 and focused on application of tissue engineering technology for bone and cartilage regeneration, especially on developing stem cell-laden hydrogels with prevascularised and precise controlled 3D structure using micropatterning and bioprinting technology to repair bone or cartilage defects. Now he is a clinical research fellow of Department of Orthopeadics, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Lei is currently a section editor of Annals of Translational Medicine, the Invited reviewer of  Biofabrication and Biomedical Materials , a member of Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), a member of Orthopeadic Research Society, a member of International Cartilage Repair Society and Chinese Association of Orthopeadic Surgeon. He is the first author of 8 peer review publications in the main scientific journals.
