Olufemi (Femi) R Ayeni MD MSc FRCSC is an associate professor of orthopaedic surgery and fellowship director of the sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at McMaster University, Canada. His clinical focus addresses athletic injuries of the hip, knee and shoulder and he is the medical director of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. He has a research focus addressing hip preservation surgery and surgical outcomes in sports medicine. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles and 20 book chapters in the last 7 years. Dr Ayeni’s clinical research addressing femoroacetabular impingement has been funded by the: Canadian Institute for Health Research, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Canadian Orthopaedic Association. He is an active reviewer for over 20 journals, an associate editor for several noted orthopaedic journals and sits on several on the editorial boards and scientific committees.
