Dr. Dandan Wang is now the associate professor and associate chief physician in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology, the Affiliated Drum Tower Hospital of Nanjing University Medical School. She received a doctorate in medicine from Anhui Medical University in 2007 and a PhD from Nanjing University in 2013. She finished her post-doc training in the National Institutes of Health from February 2017 to May 2018. Now she is the vice-president of Youth Committee of Jiangsu Rheumatology Association, and the member of China Anti-aging Promotion Association Cross Disciplinary Specialized Committee. Dr. Wang’s major research field is the effect and mechanism of allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells transplantation in treating autoimmune diseases, mainly focus on systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis and sjogren’s syndrome. She has set up a mature system for clinical stem cells transplantation and follow-up and she did many novel mechanism studies about the immunoregulation of mesenchymal stem cells. This has been successful and resulted in publications in 46 SCI journals, including Cell Stem Cell, Blood, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Arthritis & Rheumatology, Stem Cell Reports , et al. Dr. Wang hosts many grants including National Natural Science Foundation of China, Jiangsu Provincial Natural Science Foundation, Nanjing Outstanding Youth Foundation, et al. She won many honors and awards including Medical New Technology Award of Jiangsu Province (2016, first prize, ranked first), Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress Award (2015, second prize, ranked third), Jiangsu Province outstanding doctoral dissertation (2014), Jiangsu Province Science and Technology Award (2013, first prize, ranked third), APLAR Congress Best Abstract Award (2012).
