On December 19, 2018, Annals of Joint (AOJ) (Figure 1) was selected for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), which is a new index in the Web of Science™ Core Collection. As it’s indexed in ESCI, all articles published from 2018 will be well indexed in the database and could be searchable in the Web of Science™ Core Collection with no journal impact factor.

As an interdisciplinary forum for the rapid publication of original articles, editorials, technique notes, case reports and reviews on clinical, translational, and basic aspects of bone and joint, AOJ has been growing rapidly with the continuous support and tremendous efforts from our distinguishing editorial board members, guest editors, authors, reviewers, readers as well as the editorial office (Figures 3-5).

Apart from regular publications, AOJ also makes great efforts on the focused issues, which features a number of papers on certain topics in one issue. Since its birth, AOJ has published seven outstanding focused issues (Table 1). Articles could be found here: http://aoj.amegroups.com/post/category/focused-issues. Also, six focused issues are under preparation and will be published soon (Table 2).
